Debbie Redshaw

Debbie is employed as the Director of Quality Assurance for the North East Learning Trust. She is dedicated to working with schools to ensure the best outcomes for all young people.

Debbie started as a teacher in September 2001 after gaining a distinction in her Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She worked in several schools in the North East before joining Newcastle University, becoming one of the Deputy Directors for the Secondary PGCE. Following this, Debbie returned to senior leadership in schools before working for Ofsted as an His Majesty’s Inspector, before becoming a Senior His Majesty’s Inspector in 2019. Debbie joined the Trust in April 2023.

Debbie has responsibility for quality assurance across the Trust. The role is really varied and involves refining Trust quality assurance systems, school reviews, aspects of compliance, leadership development and strategic planning. Debbie is delighted to have joined the Trust and is very enthusiastic about her role as a governor at Rye Hills Academy. Debbie believes that being a governor is a vital role to support and challenge school leaders.
