Congratulations to our STEM club who have all achieved their Industrial Cadet Bronze Award!
This Award is a nationally recognised for students supported and endorsed by its Patron HRH King Charles III. Our team of students here at Ashington Academy have not only achieved their Bronze accreditation but also be awarded the prestigious ‘Project of the year’. In this project our students focussed on developing a building for the future to adapt and change with the needs of the community as well as the changing dynamics of the environment. Their solution was a community building to be placed centrally to Ashington town centre.
During their 20-hour extracurricular commitment they all demonstrated excellence in their teamwork, problem solving, creativity, and communication pitching their design to a panel of industry specialists as well as writing a comprehensive report.
Well done to Levi, Hannah, Jamal, Ava, Poppy & Ava - this is a great achievement. The students would also like to pass on their thanks to their teachers Miss Breeze & Mrs Bernard as well as to Matthew Sinnett from ARUP UK for their support.
