Our Year 12 A level PE students visited the Jesmond Dene Real Tennis Club. As part of the syllabus, students learn about the history of sport as well as the sports played by different classes within society before the Industrial Revolution. The club itself is one of only 25 in the whole of the UK! The Jesmond court was built in 1894 as the private court of the Noble family. Students learnt the rules and history of 'real tennis', as well as practical techniques on how to play this fantastic and quirky sport!
